Packed By Owner (PBO)

Any boxes or containers that are packed or filled by the customer.

Price

The cost of your move, not including any insurance or additional fees and extra charges. Cost estimates are determined based upon information obtained from the moving company during your initial meeting.

Packing Service

A service provided by a full-service moving company whereby the movers pack your household goods at your home and then unpack them upon arrival at your new location.

Peak Season Rates

A premium rate charge during busy times of the year, such as the summer.

Piano

The cost to move a small piano when the piano is included along with other household items. This is different than the cost to move only a piano or to move a large piano.

Pickup and Delivery Charges

Additional fees that are generated when a shipment is transported between a Storage in Transit facility and a place of residence.

Prohibited Items

This is sometimes referred to as Non-Allowables. The moving carrier cannot accept shipments of items that have the potential to cause harm, damage or contamination and will not accept liability for perishable items. Some of the items that are not allowed are insects, chemicals, propane tanks, food, beer or wine collections, plants or furniture that will not fit through entryways.
